What I’m learning

I often learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. For example, work-life balance is incredibly important to the current generation of professionals entering business. They want to walk the dog in the evening, meet friends for dinner, take a vacation. I’m embracing this way of living, and I’m learning from those who are early in their careers how to better balance my day.

About Me at P31

Building P31 has truly been a dream. I get to do what I enjoy most: building relationships with clients and helping them succeed. It is my genuine desire to foster lasting connections and provide ongoing assistance for their journey forward. The fact that I get to work alongside my sister and some of my favorite people makes the work even more fulfilling.

I help leaders who work in professional services be authentic, solve tough problems, and lead with confidence and clarity. And I’m British, so I’m the member of the P31 team most likely to be making a joke, usually at my own expense.

The best part of my day

The best part is when a group or individual says, “Aha! I see something new.” The sensation that someone sees the world from a new perspective is a great moment. I see this a lot with a new client at the beginning of a program.

I help clients at all skill levels learn how to work more effectively and efficiently. Along the way, I bring the energy, the fun, and give learners a safe place to grow and try new ways of thinking.

What I love about my work

My happiest days are when I get immediate positive feedback, where learners are engaged and say, “This is great.”  And it was really pleasing to hear from a client I trained 10 years ago, “Your course is the only training where I’m still using what I learned.” And she keeps introducing me to her new teams as her career develops. We marry strong training content with engaging facilitation techniques to make the training successful.

I teach professionals how to understand and communicate in difficult situations, how to influence others, and how to identify and change behaviors. My goal is to help clients become the best version of themselves.  

What I love about my work

Everyone at P31 is here because we want to make a difference in people’s lives. We’re not just teaching skills; we’re helping professionals gain a new perspective on who they are and what may be getting in the way of their success. 

Leader Emeritus & Former Futurist

When the P31 team wants to tap into my experience and expertise, I’m there for them. I advise, strategize, and brainstorm with P31 and our clients. I take part in planning and operations meetings, explore and review marketing materials, help with financial issues and negotiations, create classes, and teach occasionally. I love being a resource to P31.  

My favorite course to teach

I love teaching all the P31 courses because they meant so much to me as my career developed. Consulting fundamentals is probably my favorite for all the above reasons and for all the people who have come back to P31 saying how important and valuable it was to them and, over time, and how valuable it has become to the people they manage.
